Earlier this week I issued a statement, with guidelines, which outlined that I fully intended to go ahead with our Christingle services in their normal format.
Since then there has sadly been a significant increase in the number of Covid 19 cases and the projection is that this will continue in the coming weeks.
The latest guidance issued at this evenings live press conference is that people should prioritise events they attend and limit the social interactions they have with the people they don’t normally meet.
Given that the Christingle services in both our churches attract large numbers it is with a heavy heart that I have to inform everyone that our Christingle services this year will be ‘virtual’ once again.
I believe it is vitally important that we are seen to act responsibly and sensibly. This is not something I really wanted to do but at present there doesn’t really seem to be an alternative.
We will be making up Christingle bags like last year and details of how and when these can be collected will be published in the next few days.
OUR CHRISTINGLE SERVICE WILL BE LIVESTREAMED ON FACEBOOK FROM ST PAUL’S AT 3.00 p.m. ON CHRISTMAS EVE.
Other Christmas worship will not, at this point, be affected.
