Storm Boleo Update

In the early hours of Sunday 25th October 2026, St Paul's Church suffered significant damage as a result of Storm Boleo. This resulted in the planned Sunday morning worship being cancelled and the church and surrounding grounds being closed for safety reasons. The affected area has now been cleared and made safe and I am pleased to be able to say that the church and grounds are no longer closed, except to vehicles, and we will resume worship with our regular service of Holy Communion on Thursday 29th October at 9.30 a.m. Sunday Worship on 1st November will be as usual, and in addition we will hold our All Souls Service at 6.00 p.m. I would advise, wherever possible, that those attending worship enter via the gate on Causeway Road or the side entrance from St Paul's Avenue until further notice.

I would like to place on record my thanks to members of the church and local community who rallied round on Sunday morning, working quickly to secure the access points to the churchyard, and also to Scott Taylor and his staff from Taylor's Joinery and Plastics who cleared the area and installed a cordon around the damaged area of the the building enabling us to access the church and grounds again.

The site is due to be inspected by a loss adjuster on Thursday 29th October. Further progress updated will be shared on our Facebook page: Seaton St Paul's Church.

Rev Canon Ian Grainger

Vicar
